The “Great Te Horo Road Rai$e” got off to a stunning start last weekend, with the first fundraising event being PYO blackberries at Stanmore Farm in Te Horo. All proceeds from the day (nearly $3,000) have been donated to the earthquake strengthening fund.

Stanmore Farm’s Kate Gibbs said it was “an amazing day and broke all previous records. We were so pleased to contribute to such a worthwhile local cause.”

Te Horo Hall Committee member Deidre MacInnes coordinated the event with Stanmore Farm described it as “just the best, an amazing day - and a huge thanks to Kate, Harry and Tim [Stanmore Farm] for sponsoring this event”.

Te Horo Hall Society Chairman Andrew Annakin said “it was such a fun day and the generosity of Stanmore Farm in gifting a day’s picking and from all those who took part was just fantastic. People came from across the region as well as many locals all keen to help save Te Horo Hall”.
