Te Horo Hall Society Named Heritage and Environment Runner Up at 2026 Kāpiti Awards

Te Horo Hall Society has been named runner up in the Heritage & Environment category at the 2026 Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards for Kāpiti, earning regional recognition for its contribution to local heritage and community life.

The award places the Society among Kāpiti groups whose work helps protect valued places, care for shared spaces, and keep community history visible. For Te Horo, the result is a well earned acknowledgement of the people who give time, energy, and practical skill to looking after a hall that continues to serve as a local gathering place.

A well-earned acknowledgement

Te Horo Hall Society’s runner up award in the Heritage & Environment category is a proud result for the Society and for the wider Te Horo community.

It recognises the value of caring for places that bring people together. It also highlights the quiet, consistent volunteer work that keeps local heritage alive.

The award is a reminder that community halls are not relics of the past. With care, use, and support, they remain part of everyday life. For Te Horo, this recognition celebrates both what has been protected and what can continue to grow.
