Garden Lights Evenings a Huge Success

Over two calm and starlit nights, over 400 visitors came to see the spectacular lights at Meadowcroft Gardens, Otaki Gorge Road. Owners Neil and Avis MacInnes were overjoyed with the turnout and the event made over $6,000 for the Hall. Very popular for daytime garden tours, Meadowcroft has never before been open to the public at night. Families, and people young and old, all enjoyed an

extraordinary tour through these beautiful gardens discreetly lit with an array of colourful effects. Afterwards, two quite young visitors were asked if they enjoyed the show, both of them beamed and said it was ”magical, but we didn’t see any fairies!”. A more mature person later commented that it was “bloody fantastic!”

Neil and Avis were most appreciative of the many helpers that made the two evenings run so smoothly and particularly grateful to Tim Mansell for opening an adjacent paddock for much needed car-parking.
