The Great Te Horo Road Rai$e Sports Tipping Competition

COST?

$40 to enter the competition. 50% will be returned as prizes and the rest will go directly to the Earthquake Strengthening fundraising effort.

PRIZE MONEY:

The total prize money will depend upon entry numbers, but the following formula will apply:

• First prize will receive 20% of the entry money.
• 2nd place will receive 12% of the entry money.
• 3rd place will receive 8% of the entry money.
• 10% of the entry money will be distributed to individual round winners (shared if there is a tie)
• There will be a “special prize” for coming last!

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:

The competition runs over 10 consecutive weeks.

Each round will be emailed to the participants on Monday night of each week.

The results of each round will also be emailed at the same time (after marking)

There will be 16 questions asked each week, with a total of 20 points available.

The questions will be divided into four sections.

Section 1: ‘Sport as you know it’ (12 points available)

12 questions based on ‘mainstream’ sports. These will be both national (NZ) and international and will cover a variety of sports and will include male and female sports. Each correct answer will be worth 1 point.

Section 2: ‘Sport as you don’t know it’: (2 points available)

Two questions based on obscure sporting events happening over that weekend. Each correct answer is worth 1 point. There will be a variety of sports chosen.

Section 3: ‘So you don’t like sport!’ (2 points available)

One question based on anything but sport! This question will be worth two points.

Section 4: ‘The Bonus Question’: (4 points if correct, - 4 if incorrect, 0 if you pass)

There will be one question only, always with an option to pass. Each week the Bonus Question will cover a different sport (including one on non-sport). This question can make or break you!
